Vladivoj Kotyza: Revealing the World

The exhibition presents the paintings and drawings of the important Pilsen artist Vladivoj Kotyza (* 1943). Kotyza was one of several artists of his generation in the second half of the 1960s who developed a movement in Czech art that followed the stream of imaginative art known as Fantastic Realism.

The exhibition of drawings by Svatopluk Klimeš is based on the fact that for this artist the medium of drawing is a permanent and important part of his work. The exhibition will combine works from different periods, which is possible in Klimeš’s work. The works will be arranged in several blocks, adjusted to the various spaces of the exhibition hall.

Josef Šíma: Between (Two) Worlds

Josef Šíma (1891–1971) is one of the leading figures of modern art. One of the circumstances that shaped the unmistakable form of his work was the fact that he moved between different worlds, not only geographically, i.e. in the transitions between the Czech and French environments, but also artistically, specifically in his unique combination of painting and poetry.
